typically victorian floral flourishes and
patterns enliven the dining room (above left).
The wallpaper and rug visually expand the
modestly scaled room while simultaneously
bringing in color and warmth. In the pale
buttery yellow living room (left), natural wicker
furniture surrounds the fireplace. The mantel
was redesigned and is embellished with new
ceramic tile. In the bay window, the built-in
window seat was expanded and the hanging
light fixture was a chance find by the owners.
The enlarged kitchen (above right), though
completely new, is sensitive to the age of the
house in its design and materials, including oak
cabinetry and gray marble countertops.
