TEVEN FAVREAU doesn’t
decorate his house in Vermont for
the holidays. There is no need.
Every room in the 1832 Federal-style
landmark is a celebration. His spaces
are joyful, and it is impossible to be
in them and not feel like throwing a party. But
Favreau’s brilliance is in keeping his exuberance
in check. “Someone once said of me,” he recalls,
“that I bring my design to just before the point of
being too much.” We can’t get enough.
