Glickman’s paternal great-grandmother
was a Russian immigrant who became a
lauded artist, with works displayed in New
York’s Museum of Modern Art. Her grandmother also was an artist. Glickman herself has always been passionately creative
and studied art in school. So when it came
to installing art in her home, she kept it in
the family. “I don’t know if artistic genes are
hereditary, but I like to think that’s where I
got my interest in art,” says Glickman, who
had her great-grandmother’s entire sketchbook mounted and framed (she can go back to
the framer and have it adjusted to a different
page if she wants) for a wall in the living room,
along with some of her Chinese watercolors.
Glickman herself was inspired to pick up
her paintbrushes again, creating several can-vases, including a striking abstract acrylic

A Haven for All
“While it took some
convincing to get Brian to
agree to move here, he loves
the way it’s turned out. He is
particularly happy that he now
has a designated cabinet to
store his collection of craft
beers in the dining room. Our
Habichon, Nash, and Mika, the
cat, have the run of the place,
so they’re quite happy, too.”
a crate & barrel cabinet stores beer and wine; one
of Glickman’s own works of art hangs above the
fireplace, which has the original marble surround.
