to maximize natural daylight, architect/owner Harry
Hunt used interior windows (facing page, bottom) to
brighten the lofts of the bedrooms off the upstairs hall.
The walls are faced with pine shiplap. A ladder in a
child’s bedroom (facing page, top left) is made of
rusted steel pipes. The shower in the master bath
(facing page, top right) features high windows and
radiant heating beneath the pebbled tile floor.
alaena hunt reads in a hammock hung from the
loft of a playroom/studio that doubles as guest
quarters. A wide pocket door closes off the room
from the upstairs hall when needed. Behind the
wall of bookshelves is the hall bath.
