antiques dealer fern Eldridge (facing page)
runs Fern Eldridge & Friends out of her two-story
barn, where old quilts, often with their dates
embroidered on the back, hang from the
banister. A collection of Victorian-era portraits
(top) is called “The Four Seasons,” since they
represent summer, fall, winter, and spring.
Furniture includes tables and chairs, and larger
chest pieces (middle). The blue cabinet on the
far left dates to 1840–1860 and the blue blanket
chest on the right to the 1700s. Yellow chairs
(above), which date to the 1800s, were
assembled separately and painted to match.
