the house is heated by a low-temperature
radiant system in the 4-inch concrete slab and by
sunlight that pours through south-facing,
triple-glazed windows. The little-used woodstove
by the staircase (above) provides auxiliary heat.
In the adjacent kitchen (left, top and
bottom), the maple cabinets, butcher-block top
on the work island, and the pigmented concrete
countertops were all locally sourced.
